Fun fact: Saphine was originally supposed to be more of a ‘mom’ character, like someone more kind and patient with Dean but retooling pieces of story made me see this layer of ‘the system is broken and will fail you’. So I decided the first dragon we meet should absolutely be a brat that acts off bad instincts and is just really petty and snotty. And it’s up there with my decision to make Utero a sad old man instead of a grump. Like can no longer imagine a world without Saphine being a little snot that thinks she’s better than everyone lol
