If y’all wanna know how it feels to write a long running comic, I was writing this page all ooh yay fun stuff to start to show the cracks in this whole thing to show that rules were actively broken—fuck, I never said there’s only one Kiata at a time! SHIT!

[But I have been told by my patrons that they didn’t have any confusion thanks to previous conversations within the comic on the subject along with just the actual context of this being a chosen one story. But it still didn’t feel great to realize I fumbled something this big lmao]

I don’t remember it ever being explicitly stated, but I still got the intended impression so… mission accomplished! And like your patrons said, the Chosen One trope probably filled any gaps.

also good job making the moon scary/ominous, 10/10 would need to be told “Fear Not” again

It just feels so silly to have completely missed. There’s a lot of improv that I gotta make sure doesn’t trip me up later but this was a thing planned from the start and I still goofed haha I’m glad some people still made it through to the intended other side. The fun of long term story writing lol

Thank you! I had fun with the idea of her eye being such an overwhelming presence that you can’t even start to see the rest of her.

Eh, if you hadn’t confessed to that little oops, you could have spun it as Dean assuming there was only ever one Chosen One ™ at a time. He did grow up with a rather lacking education, after all…

That’s the opposite of what should be happening though. There’s only one Kiata at a time, the blessing passes on after one Kiata dies. That’s what he has been taught, that’s the part I never clarified. His lacking of education was him asking if he ever met his dad back in the first 50ish pages, a thing that should have been impossible if he knew how things worked but is now learning actually happened and is the weird part.
